What if the Grand Prix was in Nottingham, Hull or Leeds?

The current F1 track for the British Grand Prix is situated at Silverstone – and has been since 1987 – but what if F1 changed the location? Although the prospect of holding the Grand Prix in London was once put forward, it’s an idea that is yet to come to fruition.

That said, at Motorway Windscreens we thought we’d take a look at how the dream of having the Grand Prix in some of the most prominent cities in the UK could become a reality. With the British Grand Prix taking place this weekend, we have created Grand Prix street tracks for the cities that we operate in and are proud to serve.

Nottingham

The seating area would be situated along the fastest stretch of the route where cars can hit top speeds of 300km/h, making for exhilarating viewing! The track extends beyond Nottingham Trent University, and runs past past Nottingham’s leading music venues Motorpoint Arena and Rock City, as well as Victoria shopping centre where you can treat yourself to some retail therapy after watching the race.

Leeds

With the start and finish line located very near to the Trinity Leeds shopping and leisure centre, you can enjoy some shopping or a bite to eat while you wait for the race. Should you choose to travel to the racetrack by train, the Leeds train station is situated nearby so you won’t have far to go.

There would be a seating area strategically placed along the sharp bend of the fastest stretch, where cars can reach speeds of up to 300km/h – a truly breathtaking experience!

Hull

A far more elongated route compared with Leeds and Nottingham, the Hull track features a stretch along the iconic Humber Bridge. There would be a seating area located by the slow corner at the end of the bridge, so spectators have a clear viewpoint of the racing cars at the longest point of the track.

Once off the bridge, the cars will encounter the fastest stretch of the track, running alongside the River Hull for a more scenic waterside route.
